Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs issued a public apology on Instagram after security camera footage surfaced showing him attacking singer Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.

The disturbing video, obtained by CNN, reportedly shows Combs, 54, in a white towel, becoming violent towards Ventura, 37, who was his girlfriend and musical collaborator at the time.

In the video message, Combs acknowledged the footage, saying: "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that."

He continued, taking full responsibility for his actions: "I was f***** up - I mean I hit rock bottom - but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now."

Combs went on to describe his regret and the steps he has taken to change: "I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."

This incident is part of a series of recent allegations against Combs.

In November 2023, Ventura sued Combs, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse throughout their relationship.

The lawsuit was settled shortly after, but it sparked further investigations.

Combs has been named as a defendant in other sexual abuse lawsuits and is reportedly under federal investigation for sex trafficking.
