Enmity is of no use, only saps your energy
Misunderstandings do arise but we handle them so badly we end up worse off than before. How does it benefit you to keep enemies?

Ways through which to escape temptation
I believe the worst thing that can happen to a person who is spiritually strong is to fall into temptation.

Seek God's intervention during hard times
Anne went through what I would consider the worst experience for a woman. She loses her first son at birth and six years later, another son died in a road accident. Her husband blamed her for the second death. He was psychologically disturbed and contemplated committing suicide.

Don't want a nagging wife? Just love her
Submission is such a beautiful thing. Yes it is. Those homes where the wife fully submits to her husband according to scripture are truly blessed and happy homes.

'Monogamous men enjoy peace of mind'
The debate on polygamy, and what God says about it, will not go away soon. Whereas Islam recognises polygamy as long as one demonstrates ability and does not supersede wife number four, Christianity is categorical about one man, one wife.

Without faith, a business can't succeed
Oftentimes we consciously demarcate business from faith, thinking the business world is more secular than spiritual one but what we fail to grasp is that God is in the business of creating successful entrepreneurs out of us, if only we would allow Him.

Religion should make us better people
Someone once said that Africans are notoriously religious and I am inclined to agree.

Pain teaches us to avoid past mistakes
Before he left the earth, Jesus prayed for his disciples and asked the Father to take care of them.

Prophets always rejected in their homes
The paper reported that by last week, 2,047 people had signed a petition asking Yale University to withdraw the honorary doctorate degree awarded to Nigeria’s Economy and Finance Minister Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Religious conflicts should not exist
Why would people passionately claim to defend their god? The Nigerian conflict has its roots in colonial times when the north and the south were made one.

Does God allow natural calamities?
For the people of Nepal, April 25 may have been their appointed day with doom. An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Kathmandu, the capital city, and killed more than 2500 people dead.

Kenyans, God has good plans for you
I have been watching TV for days, trying to absorb every piece of news and analysis on the Garissa massacre. To say I am deeply saddened is an understatement.

Humility will make us stay on right path
I was in a volatile meeting with my former boss, and in the heat of the moment, I unintentionally called him Mister, whereupon he jumped on me, visibly angry, and said: “Do not call me Mister. I am not even a doctor. I passed that stage a long time ago.”

We should become better people
Historical accounts show that man is forever in contention with God. Man just cannot sit still and trust God because he cannot see God in the physical realm

Teach your children these fundamental things
The reason we have disharmony in society is because there is a breakdown in the home. I subscribe fully to the opinion that if a man or woman is not sure he/she can handle family life, then steer very far away from it.

Plain change without God is meaningless
Many of us struggle with undesirable traits or habits which wish to shake off, but cannot. Often, they form our New Year resolutions. However, we fail to change as soon as we embark on this journey. The truth of the matter is, we need more power than just willpower in our lives. We need God’s power.

We should learn to serve others
Me, myself and I. This is what most definitely characterises many people today. We live for prosperity. The reason we wake up early in the morning and oversleep on Sunday is money.

A man and his wife quarrel and you are invited to arbitrate. You will be most foolish to hastily take sides before you have understood the whole story.

Why we should strive for a righteous life
Righteousness is defined as a state of moral perfection required by God to enter heaven. In simple terms, it is simply being right with God, which encompasses total obedience to Him.
