Five hundred and eleven people have tested positive for the coronavirus today, according to the Health Ministry.
The new infections are from 6,434 samples conducted in the last 24 hours, which now puts Kenya’s positivity rate at 7.9 per cent.
Total confirmed cases in the country are now 243,456 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,450,791.
Some six patients have however succumbed to the disease, all being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in August and September,” Health CS Mutahi Kagwe (pictured) said in a statement.
The Covid-19 death toll is now 4,902.
Another 1,018 patients have recovered from the disease, “with eight hundred and ten being from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while two hundred and eight from various facilities countrywide.”
Total recoveries now stand at 231,958.
Further, a total of 1,617 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,447 are under the Home-Based Isolation and care Program. One hundred and forty-eight patients are in the ICU, ninety-nine on ventilator support and thirty-five on supplemental oxygen.
3,081,610 vaccines have so far been administered nationwide and only 3.03 per cent of the adult population is fully vaccinated.
