Kenyans on social media have expressed their anger towards the Nairobi County Government after the eviction of Pangani tenants on Monday night 16 July.
Residents say they were woken up by the bulldozers at around 11.30 pm. The doors and windows were broken down forcefully evicting them out of their houses.
According to Nation, one of the residents who spoke to them said that the eviction took place when they (tenants), were still with their children.

“The City Hall guys are here and they are demolishing the houses while we are still in with our children. It is scary as they are breaking windows, doors and everything,” said the residents.
The late night demolitions are a move to pave way for new-rise apartments. Pangani is among the seven estates in Nairobi that were earmarked for redevelopment.
The move has however, caused a stir among Kenyans on social media, with most of them condemning the act.
