Residents of Saboti, Trans Nzoia County were baffled after pupils of a local school admitted to engaging in homosexuality for the last five years. The acts of the nineteen pupils from Grassland Primary School were revealed after one pupil gave details.
The parent of the Class Eight boy had gone to school to report that he had come home drunk, prompting the teachers to question. That is when the pupil revealed that he and other pupils have been taking alcohol and engaging in homosexual activities.
To the shock of teachers and parents, the boy confessed to being behind the ‘recruiting’ of the group and also disclosed that they have a well-known trader as their leader. When questioned, some of the pupils said they have engaged in alcohol since they were in class four.
“We have been taking alcohol since Class Four then one of our teachers who left this school told us to stop,” one of them admitted.
According to the school’s head teacher, Mr. Wahome Ngunyi, alcohol dens in the nearby shopping centre are to blame for the pupils’ behavior. He confirmed that a section of his over 500 pupils is indeed engaging in erratic habits.

“It is very shocking to learn that our boys have been engaging in homosexuality. We have even taken one of the boys to the district hospital for treatment and we have a report confirming this,” he reported.
As reported by Citizen, Mr. Ngunyi then assured parents that the pupils will undergo appropriate guidance and counseling while his office liaises with neighbouring schools to eradicate the bad behavior.
