In a tragic story that was laced with allegations of cult worship, a city lawyer Paul Magu Muhiu who died under mysterious circumstances alongside his wife and three children two years down three years down the line family is now prompted to talk about his death.

Paul Magu was allegedly accused of killing his wife Lydia Magu and their children Allen, 9, Ryan, 8 and Tiffany, 6 before killing himself.

According to his mother, Keziah Wambui before Magu died he left behind a letter informing that he was so grateful to them for educating him.

He further went ahead to tell them that he had left his three children to his neighbour Charles Mutuku who lived in the same estate with him to take care of them and educate them as his own.

He also asked his brothers and sister for forgiveness wherever he had wronged them because they were of one blood.

His brother said that he did not see that coming. The family knew him as a humble person whereas some neighbours said that they knew Paul as a two-sided coin.

His brother believed that the church turned Magu because he was a nice man who loved his family.

The mother believed that there was more to church and Paul Magu. She said that before he died she told him to be more careful with his female cleric pastor Ann Nyoro whom she believed had an affair with the said pastor.

Kezia said that his son called her and informed her that Mugo was at home and he was wearing her clothes.

“ In the morning when Mr. Muhiu returned from a nearby shop, he found Mr. Magu in my skirt and blouse. He angrily ordered him to undress and gave him his own clothes, which he wore and drove off without informing anyone where he was going,” said the mother.

Magu’s sister Esher Wanjiru Njenga said that there was a hidden reason as to why he was excommunicated from Bethel Church in Thika where Wambui was a pastor.

According to her sister, Magu was not ready to live in abject poverty and that is why he decided to kill himself because he had lost his property.

His brother said that Magu was brainwashed because of the church. The family do believe that they one day they will know what killed Lydia and her three children.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Paul Magu wrote a will that allowed pastor Wambui to inherit his property leaving nothing to the family.
