After all the hullabaloo about multiple-award winning rapper Kanye West touring East Africa — and in particular Kenya — during his Africa visit, MondayBlues can now confirm that The Throne rapper has given the region a wide berth as he heads to South Africa this Friday.
Besides pitching to have the star do a stopover show in Nairobi, we can also confirm that interested local promoters never got to seal any deal with the rapper’s management as it had previously been purported.
The excitement of Kanye’s visit had swept through urban Kenya late last year but as it seems, the star’s fans will have to wait a bit longer to host the American.
Tickets for the one-night concert, to be held in Johannesburg on Saturday, are in big demand. A regular ticket is selling at about Sh6,000 while a VIP ticket is going for Sh12,000. The show has been sponsored by Castle Lite, the same brand that sponsored the Drake mega show in December.

With a baby on the way, Kanye’s celebrity girlfriend Kim Kardashian is expected to accompany the rapper. Meanwhile, word has it that Kim Kardashian had an affair with Kanye West while she was still with ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush, according to a former pal of the rapper.
According to The Sun, the hip-hop star Consequence — who was signed to Kanye’s record label — claims he and Kim were getting jiggy at least three years before becoming an item and before she split from American footballer Reggie, 27.
In a US radio interview, Consequence — real name Dexter Raymond Mills Jr — even claimed he drove Kanye to hotels to meet reality TV star Kim, 32, behind Reggie’s back.
