Governor Cyprian Awiti has reshuffled his Cabinet to fill posts left vacant after several officials resigned to contest elective posts in the upcoming General Election.

The reshuffle came after County Secretary and Head of Civil Service, Isaiah Ogwe, resigned to vie for the Homa Bay Governor's seat.

Energy Executive Beatrice Ogola also quit to seek Homa Bay Woman Rep post. 

Governor Awiti and his Deputy Hamilton Orata filled the vacancies, stating that the changes will take place with immediate effect.

In the changes, Water and Environment Chief Officer Donald Ogweno has been appointed County Secretary in acting capacity.

Trade Executive David Okeyo is the new Energy boss, while Chief of Staff Eliud Otieno has been promoted to acting Transport Executive.

Chief of Protocol John Apollo has been promoted to Chief of Staff, and Agriculture Executive Aguko Juma transferred to the Trade and Industrialization docket.

Meanwhile, Education Executive Beatrice Asyago is the new Agriculture Minister.
