A Kenya Women Finance Trust Bank employee was this afternoon hacked to death by a man believed to be a client of the institution.
The assailant is said to have accosted the Bank's Business Development Officer from Ikonge Branch at Bisembe Village where the officer, together with two other colleagues had gone for a work mission to meet a women's group.
Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba who confirmed the incident said the assailant who was identified as Anderson Mokaya aged 32 years severed the officer's hand with a panga before cutting him severally at the back of his neck, back and legs.
"The officer was identified as Eric Kaluki died instantly due to the severe cut wounds he suffered which led to excessive bleeding.
According to witnesses, the man approached the deceased and demanded to know why he had not been paid his shares which he had been saving with the institution.

Ikonge Town Market Chairman of traders John Onsoti condemned the incident which he said was isolated.
The suspect is still at large but police are pursuing after him.
