A woman has ended up in court, following a fight with her sister over a cooking stove.
Alice Wanjiku is accused of beating up her older sister Loice Wanjiku. The altercation is said to have happened at their home in Nairobi’s Maringo area, Loice’s smokey stove allegedly dirtied Alice’s aired clothes.
It is reported that on the said day in the evening hours, Alice arrived home earlier and lit the stove not far from Loice’s clothes line, where she had aired her items.
In the evening when she arrived, Loice found that some of her clothes had been stained by the black soot from the stove.
It is claimed that when the accused was asked why she had done so, she got angry and called her accuser a prostitute.

Alice is further said to have ran to the complainant’s house and, in a fit of fury, toppled over a drum full of water, nearly a 100 litres that flooded the whole floor.
The water was so much, it flooded a neigbours house, prompting yet another fight with her.
According to the prosecution, the accused turned more violent, took a hammer, and broke a window pane as well as the door locks and hinges. She is also accused of smashing kitchen ware.
It is then for this reason that a neighbour was called their uncle, who came to quell the commotion. However, Alice was arrested and taken to the police station.
She was arraigned in court where she denied insulting and assaulting her sister Loice. The court has since ordered for their probation report to be tabled on March 26, 2018.
