Moi Primary school- Kabarak in Nakuru emerged among the top schools with one of its candidates, Emmanuel Kiplagat, who scored 425, ranked among the top 10 nationally.
The school had a candidature of 246 with over 80 candidates scoring above 400 marks. This year, the school recorded a mean of 385.43, a slight drop from 386.80 last year.
The school’s headteacher Nelson Kiptoo attributed the success to hard work and dedication by both teachers and candidates.

“We are happy about the results. All this is attributed to hard work and dedication by both teachers and candidates,” Mr Kiptoo said.
Gaudencia Gueth, who scored 408 said despite the short time they had in preparing for examinations, the results were excellent.
“The results are worth the hard work. I am happy that my class made our school proud,” Gueth said.
At Sun and Shield Academy, Wendy Kipyegon, who scored 420 marks attributed her success to support from teachers and fellow pupils.
“Exams are not really terrifying when one is fully prepared, which we all were, in my class. Hard work pays,” Wendy said and added that she wanted to be a Biologist.
The school managed a mean score of 389.17 with 37 candidates scoring over 400 marks, marking an improvement from a mean score of 377 last year. The school’s headteacher, Mrs Brigid Kandie Shivachi said that despite the short preparation period, the candidates performed well.
“These candidates understood the assignment and knew what they were needed to do. During the examination period, they were all calm and ready. It was a very disciplined class,” Mrs Shivachi said.
In the school, identical twins emerged among the top candidates. Roy Kibet scored 406 marks while his twin brother Bravin Kiplimo scored 417. Speaking to The Standard the duo said they have always been close in their performances over the years.
“We have always performed like this, at close range and we are happy. We were in the same class and even shared the same bed,” Kibet said. Kiplimo said his twin has always been his closest friend and they have always studied with him.
