Mr. Gire Ali, suspended KQ staff might be closer to getting
justice served. This is after a court directive that Ali be recalled back to
the job and that he should neither be arrested nor prosecuted.
Mr. Ali got suspended last week by Kenya Airways' management
after he allegedly recorded and circulated a video of a Southern China plane
that had arrived from China having 239 passengers on board.
Justice Weldon Korir ordered reinstatement for Mr. Gire Ali
after he went to court, claiming that he was being targeted.
Through his lawyer Dunstan Omari, Ali testified how he saw
the plane landing, contradicting an earlier communication by the KQ that there
would be no flights from within China.
Ali noted how the flight remained unattended to for over one
hour, with only the Chinese media team taking mobile phone photos and reporting
everything.

Having ended his shift at 9.30 am, he [Ali] left for his
two-days' off, but received a strang call on the same day between 2–3 pm
requesting him to report to the KQ's corporate desk.
Mr. Ali ignored the summon after the caller failed to
provide him with clear reasons for the summon, and whereby he got another call,
which told him that he risked being taken by force, now that his location
details were known.
Fearing for his life, Ali reported to Kahawa Wendani police
station seeking for his placement in safe custody, though the police turned
down his request and, instead, gave him a number which he was to call in case
there arose any emergency.
