Police have impounded bhang worth Sh6 million and arrested three people at Kirimon area.
According to police, the bhang was being transported in the two sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from a neighbouring country through Moyale in Marsabit County.
It was not immediately established where the suspects were ferrying the drugs to. County police Commander Karanja Muiruri confirmed the arrests and said the three suspects would be arraigned today.
“We have three suspects, including a woman, in custody. Officers from the DCI are leading investigations as it seems there is a big chain of people in this illicit business,” Mr Muiruri told journalists outside Maralal police station.
The police acted after getting a tip off from the public after one of the cars that were being used to transport the narcotics developed a mechanical problem.

The suspects sought help from a nearby home on Friday evening.
“They requested the homeowner to leave the car until the following morning. They were offloading some things from the vehicle, when he inquired what was being transported, the suspects lied to him that it was medicine. He doubted this and reported them to Kirimon police patrol base,” he said
