In the absence of footbridges along Outer Ring Road, these pedestrians spotted on the stretch between Donholm and Taj Mall risked their lives to cross the busy highway in all manner of ways.

Some jumped over the guardrails while carrying children as other crawled underneath them.

The Government owes residents footbridges to ensure they can cross the road safely as is the case on the Thika Super Highway.

The road in its status as at now has no Zebra crossing or crossing space along the barrier at major places with human traffic like Fedha, Stage Mpya and Pipeline.

This is what women and men living around the place and are forced to cross daily to go to work go through.

Women with children strive to cross as some crouch under the barrier to pass to the other side of the road as many people have too been claimed to have been knocked during crossing.

Crossing the road along the stretch has become another job altogether.

Over to you, Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
