Dairy farmers in Pokot South have accused middlemen of fleecing them. The farmers said efforts to shake off brokers had not borne fruit.
They said cartels paid poorly for their produce before selling it at exorbitant prices to processing firms.
Robert Merisya, a dairy official, said middlemen bought milk at between Sh25 and Sh34 per litre and sold it at Sh45.
"They are to blame for the high cost of milk," he said.
