Chaos erupted during a burial in Mtito-Andei ward, Makueni County on Saturday after Wiper Party leaders clashed with Maendeleo chap chap supporters.
Chaos erupted after Kalembe Ndile attacked Governor Kivutha saying he has not delivered a third of what Makueni people wanted, which triggered animosity amongst the two camps leading to interruption of the burial program.
The funeral of one senior politician in Makueni County Mr. Joseph Kyuma was heavily supported by Maendeleo Chap Chap supporters who had sidelined the Makueni County government (of wiper party).
As Kalembe Ndile tried to address Governor Kivutha Kibwana directly in front of mourners, Makueni County Chief of staff Mr. Musyoka Kisangi got agitated and led the crowd towards Kalembe Ndile, forcing his speech cut shot as confrontation took center stage.
Police found it hard to control the rowdy mourners who had gone wild and started wars amongst the two rival parties of Wiper and Chap Chap. They had to call for support of anti-riot police to calm the situation.

Governor Kibwana urged Makueni people and Kenyans at large to stop politics during burials, adding that politicians should create their own rallies for politics.
“It was a pity to see people fight during funerals rather that getting the deceased a befitting send off.” He said.
Mbooni East MP Kisoi Munyao who was in attendance said Makueni chaos and wrangles have been powered by the investigating bodies that have never been giving their reports since the county assembly shootings, Masongaleni ward by-election chaos among other ugly scenarios, urging the cabinet secretary to intervene and ensure the matter is solved before it gets out of hand.
“Let the Interior Cabinet Secretary and the Inspector General take stern actions to ensure these character comes to an end since any investigations done were unprofessional and below standards,” kisoi said.
