Democracy, they say, is the best form of governance since all players are accorded equal opportunity.
Sometimes it can get messy as it questions every action of those in authority.
Since as a country we decided to embrace democratic governance, we cannot practice it half-heartedly. The governors must prepare to answer accountability queries. They should not ask the subjects why they are questioning them but instead provide satisfactory answers.
The tendency to criticise those questioning Government is against the spirit of democracy. When the people no longer feel free to question issues, authorities take advantage.
There is need for checks and balances to avoid abuse of power. Let us accept and practice the ideals of democracy.
