Governor William Kabogo has taken issue with Jubilee MPs who are claiming they were part of the team that 'fixed' Deputy President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The governor said it is very unfortunate that Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and his Kabete counterpart Ferdinand Waititu were coming up with theories of how Ruto found his way to the ICC at this time.
“Where are we headed as a country? Why are they coming out now? They ought to have done that a long time ago. The nation is healing while some people are opening up wounds, which had already recovered,” said Kabogo. He said if whatever Kuria is confessing is true, he ought to have done it when ICC was collecting evidence as it could have saved Kenyans from being arraigned at the court.
The Gatundu South MP has claimed he was part of the team who 'fixed' Ruto and also named the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Odinga. On Sunday, Waititu also claimed he knows two witnesses who were coached to 'fix' the DP. The claims have caused an uproar in both the ruling coalition and the Opposition. Kabogo also said people attending prayer rallies for Ruto and radio journalist Joshua Sang should exercise caution so as not to divide the nation through their utterances.
He said if caution is not exercised, there will be a division between the people of Rift Valley and Mt Kenya region, which will not be healthy for the ruling coalition, which enjoys a lot of support from both regions.

Speaking on Wednesday while inspecting road projects in Lari and Limuru sub-counties, Kabogo also cautioned Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and other CORD leaders against insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying they should accord the Head of State the respect he deserves.
“What is wrong with Muthama? It should stick in his head that the President deserves respect from everyone, including himself,” said Kabogo.
He said CORD should practise mature politics "which should lead this nation to the next level instead of destabilising the Jubilee coalition from fulfilling its mandate to Kenyans".
“Can't we have a smooth nation? I do not understand why these CORD politicians are always complaining. They should relax and watch how a nation is run,” he said.
