Submission is such a beautiful thing. Yes it is.
Those homes where the wife fully submits to her husband according to scripture are truly blessed and happy homes.
Please do not stone me for saying this but I believe our Kenyan homes are very short on submission.
There are too many “men” who are married and living together, only that one is a biological man while the other has acquired manhood due to circumstances.
I was recently taken aback to learn that many Nigerian women are not as aggressive as portrayed in the films but are humble and submit to their husbands.

Oftentimes, we mistake their loud nature for aggression, but I found out that their men treat them like queens.
Please note that I recognise the fact that some Kenyan men are doing a good job.
However, a majority are a far cry from what a real man is. How?
How can a real man commit himself to the boys and the bar at the expense of his wife and children? The argument is that the man is running away from his nagging wife.
Goodness. But why does she nag?
No one is crazy to rave about nothing. If after tests the doctor says I have malaria, do I solve it by going out and sleeping under a tree or do I take anti-malarial tablets?
Who is this who calls himself a real man but decides the woman will be the breadwinner while his job is to lounge in busaa dens and go home in a drunken stupor and demand meat?
Or the man who earns millions which the family never sees? The family will live in a small rental unit as paupers because that is all Mama can afford while the father stashes away his millions in a fixed deposit account.
Again, who is this who calls himself a real man who is forever absent spiritually and physically in the affairs of the home? He is that nice gentleman who is the chair of this and that welfare group and has devoted his life to philanthropy and serving the community at the expense of his wife and children.
How about the violent one whose preoccupation is to pick a fight at the very slightest opportunity? How about the one who hides under his wife’s skirt when creditors come calling? And the abusive one? How does one submit to such? A resentful person has many issues with submission.
To submit is divine.
Those women who have understood this principle and apply it are very few, simply because they have understood it to be an unconditional command from God.
But it would be a lot easier for more women to submit if their husbands did the first thing they are commanded by God to do: to love their wives.
Loving means putting your wife first in everything.
Try it. I promise you less nagging because submission takes away all that noise!
