Caesar Thiari, the brother of Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando, is today expected to take a plea for murder before the Nyeri High Court.

Thiari, who was late last month certified fit to stand trial after spending a month at the Mathari Hospital, will take a plea for the murder of his 70-year-old mother on July 27.

During his first appearance in court, the 40-year-old, who is the last-born in his family, attempted to admit killing his mother but was restrained from doing so.

found unfit

Mukurweini Senior Principal Magistrate Wendy Kagendo, who handled the case a day after the murder, restrained the suspect from confessing to killing his mother, as only the High Court has jurisdiction to hear and determine such cases.

But shortly after being produced in the Nyeri High Court, Thiari was found mentally unfit to stand trial.
