Kenya: The National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee (NACSC) has warned Kenyans against idolising corrupt individuals, through electing them to various leadership positions.
NACSC Director David Gathii lamented that members of the public have formed a habit of electing or appointing corrupt individuals into various leadership positions.
Gathii said that some of the leaders elected by the public, including in churches have tainted records in management of public resources.
“It is a pity that we are idolising corruption. Those people who featured in smuggling of goods and services, corruption in public offices and other vices are the same people we elect into various positions,” lamented Gathii.
