Kenya: The High Court has stopped three people, among them a bishop, from selling land worth Sh50 million belonging to Kanu.
Justice Lucy Gacheru Thursday directed Patrick Mbugua, George Mahia and Ann Kabochi, to respond to the suit filed against them by Kanu.
Kanu through its Secretary General Nick Salat, accused the trio of purporting to be branch officials of the party, in order to sell off the plot located in Kasarani.
The court issued orders restraining the defendants from interfering or trespassing on the property in dispute until the case is heard and determined. The court also directed Kasarani OCPD to enforce compliance with orders issued.

Massive breaches
According to Kanu, the trio last week attempted to trespass onto the suit property but they were repulsed.
“The defendant’s intended to trespass to illegally collect and receive rent from tenants through impersonation,” said Salat. “There is real likelihood of massive breaches of the law with possibility of bloodshed being visited on innocent people by the defendant’s illegal agents and servants,” Salat said in an affidavit.
