The prime suspect believed to be behind the murder of 24-year-old Velvine Nungari in Kaiamumbi area, Kahawa West, Joseph Murimi has been released on a Sh200, 000 cash bail.
This is after a Kiambu court declined to allow prosecution request to detain Murimi for 30 more days.
Through a virtual hearing of the application the prosecution had said that it had not received reports from various government agencies in regard to the ongoing investigations.
Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi directed Murimi to be reporting at Kiamumbi police station every Thursday of the week.
The matter will be mentioned on April 29 for further directions.
