A Holy Bible in Suba language is in the market.At the launch of the version of the Bible, church leaders appealed to political leaders to revere God.
The New Testament in Abasuba was inaugurated at the Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre on Mfangano Island at the weekend.
Clerics urged politicians to honestly pray for Kenyans to co-exist.
East Africa Executive Director for the Seventh Day Adventist Church Paul Muasya said it was through reading the Bible that leaders would have peace of mind. "Our leaders should go back to the Bible and honestly read the holy book. They will see change," said Pastor Muasya.
Philip Anyolo of Homa Bay Catholic Diocese said reading the Bible develops a sense of love and peace.
Samuel Ogallo of Pentecostal Faith Assemblies Church urged locals to use of the Bible in preaching peace.
The occasion marked a milestone in the search for a Bible in Abasuba, which began in 1988, when speakers of the language petitioned Bible Society of Kenya and United Bible Societies to undertake a translation.
