Kenya and Serbia have agreed to develop a memorandum of understanding and expedite exchange programs to foster talent development, talent scouting, and socio-economic growth in youth affairs, the creative economy, and sports.
According to the two nations, the agreements will see both countries benefit from leveraging on each other’s strengths.
The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Salim Mvurya held bilateral talks with the Serbian ambassador Danijela Cubrilo, on the need to leverage each other’s strengths, particularly in sports.
“We want to explore opportunities for twinning sporting activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, and water sports, allowing Serbian athletes to experience high-altitude training and friendly matches in Kenya, and vice versa,” Mvurya said.
The CS further affirmed the commitment to strengthening collaborations in the creative economy sector, emphasizing the need to formalize efforts through the agreement.
Danijela Cubrilo commended efforts achieved in Kenya by nurturing talent to improve youth livelihoods.
“We are eager to foster this cooperation. In sports, Kenyans are known for their drive to excel in championships, an attribute that aligns with Serbian athletes.
The creative economy is a priority for both our countries, and we can achieve more through shared experiences,” she emphasized.
