Kenyan digital creator and model Achieng Agutu was beyond excited when she met billionaire music mogul and fashion icon Rihanna in Barbados. She took to her Instagram page to showcase her star-struck encounter with the global superstar.

The experience was so remarkable that a fan playfully teased her, asking, “Sis, are you in love?” to which she excitedly replied, “Duh, I’m with Rihanna!” The Kenyan digital creator was in Barbados to attend a high-end beauty campaign.

With stunning snapshots and videos featuring the Diamonds hitmaker, she proudly shared the moment on her social media pages. However, Agutu is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having gained popularity after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021.

During her interview on the show, Achieng shared her inspiring journey to success and the sacrifices her parents made to finance her high-end education. She moved to the United States to further her studies, but due to the high costs, her parents were forced to take loans and sell their land to support her dreams.

To sustain herself financially, she had to work six jobs. “I work one full-time job as an admissions counselor at Holy Cross College. I also babysit for two families, wash cars, clean houses, drive Uber, and teach English to international students,” she said.

During the interview, Achieng revealed that she had not seen her parents for a long time since they lived in Kenya and South Africa. In a heartwarming surprise, Ellen DeGeneres invited them to the U.S., where they reunited on the show, leaving the audience emotional and overjoyed.

Since that moment, Achieng Agutu has remained a social media sensation.
