Residents of Ruiru will now breathe a sigh of relief after Columbia Africa Healthcare Ltd, a privately held Nairobi-based healthcare group, opened doors to its newest clinic.

Dubbed Columbia Africa Ruiru, the clinic will offer high-quality outpatient care to one of Kenya’s fastest-growing communities.

Located at the Nord Mall on Kamiti Road, the new clinic is designed to provide accessible medical services to Ruiru residents and beyond.

This is in line with the group’s mission to bring its globally recognised healthcare model directly to the people across the country while ensuring patients receive expert-driven, compassionate care.

"Our goal is to provide Ruiru residents with the same standard of care found in top international hospitals," said Dr John Tole, Medical Advisor at Columbia Africa Healthcare Ltd.

He said the healthcare group is committed to making high-quality healthcare both accessible and affordable, ensuring that families in this area get the best possible treatment close to home.

According to him, the Columbia Africa Ruiru Clinic is designed as a one-stop center for comprehensive outpatient services, eliminating the need for multiple referrals or repeat hospital visits.

“Patients will have access to expert medical consultations across key specialties, including pediatrics, family medicine, dermatology, and internal medicine,” he said.

The clinic also features specialised health programs, including executive wellness checks tailored for different age groups, and focused care in ophthalmology, orthopedics, dentistry, and obstetrics & gynecology.

Diagnostic services such as general radiology, mammography, ultrasound, a modern laboratory, and non-invasive cardiology assessments are all available under one roof.

To enhance patient convenience, the facility includes a fully stocked pharmacy and an on-site café.

Operating from Monday to Saturday, the clinic will accommodate busy schedules while maintaining top-tier healthcare delivery standards.

Beyond advanced medicine, Columbia Africa prioritizes affordability and patient-centered care.

The clinic introduces several initiatives aimed at making quality healthcare more accessible, including discounted wellness packages to encourage preventive screenings, free follow-up consultations within 72 hours of an initial visit, and special discounts on mammograms and treadmill tests when bundled with wellness packages.

"We believe that quality healthcare should not be a privilege but a right for all," said Dr Linda Thorpe, the group’s Clinical Coordinator.

She added, "By offering affordable wellness programs and patient-friendly policies, we hope to encourage people to prioritize their health before issues become critical."

To further enhance access to care, the group has partnered with leading insurance providers, including Aetna, Allianz Partners, APA Insurance, Cigna, and Bupa, allowing insured patients to receive services with minimal out-of-pocket costs.
