Nkulee Dube, late Lucky Dube’s daughter, jets in tomorrow ahead of her weekend’s tribute concert made to mark her father’s memorial.
The singer, who has taken after her celebrated father, will arrive tomorrow evening ahead of the weekend show that will also feature a number of Kenyan singers.
“Nkulee has always wanted to do a memorable tribute for her late dad who is until today a music icon all over the world. She has opted to do this in Kenya and this is a great honour to the reggae lovers here,” said Fishbone’s Chigy, the brains behind the concert.
Remembered for his smash hits most of which had a political activism element, Dube was gunned down in a botched carjacking in Johannesburg on October 18, 2007. His death sent shock waves around the globe, affecting all of those who loved his thought-provoking music.
