William Ruto man in sex scandal: Businessman accuses him of luring wife

Businesman accuses Farouk(L) of luring spouse

A powerful political operative and close associate of Deputy President William Ruto has been accused of luring a married woman and wrecking her marriage.

Eldoret-based businessman, Timothy Murey, claims that Farouk Kibet lured his legally married wife Shailine Chepngetich after a Jubilee rally in Bungoma a few weeks ago.

Murey claims that Farouk had been giving promises to the wife, including plans to secure her a job at one of Kenya’s embassies to “liberate her from the poor man’s arms,” Murey, a father of two, told The Nairobian.

Their two-year marriage now hangs in the balance with Murey claiming Farouk could have been eyeing his wife for some time now.

“My wife is a casual employee at a university. Not long ago, she told me that a close female friend known to connect politicians with women introduced her to Farouk so that he could use his connections to get her permanently employed,” explains Murey.

Murey says he was initially happy but became suspicious when she started showing him steamy text conversations with him, including plans to meet and even secure her a job at one of the embassies. That’s when he decided to test her to establish if she could be swayed by Farouk’s position and clout.

On the material, Murey claims he was tipped off by someone who picked the wife from Eldoret to meet Farouk at a Jubilee rally in Bungoma.

“When I called her, she didn’t deny that she was going to meet him (Farouk) so that he could help her secure a job. Later, I learnt that they met at a lodging in town,” alleges Murey, recalling that his wife “reeturned home around 11am and even told me she was given Sh10,000 afterwards. But my heart was already in pieces, imagining what was happening behind my back.”

Interestingly, Murey and Farouk know each other.

Murey recalls an occasion when they bumped into each other and Farouk complimented his designer glasses which he had bought overseas. “He offered me Sh4,000 for them, but their real value is Sh27,000. He promised to pay the balance later.”

In one of the alleged text andWhatsApp conversations, Murey’s wife and Farouk appear to be exchangingsweet nothings like couples on the cusp of young love.

A screenshot of the woman’s mobile phone captures conversation with a person alleged to be Farouk.

One of the messages has a photo taken from behind Jubilee leaders at a rally. Murey explains that, “When I called Farouk using my wife’s phone having found out their relationship had already gone too far, the first thing he (Farouk) said was “Iamune kwao n d a n y u n ,” which translates to, “How are you my wife?” in the Kalenjin dialect.

Contacted by The Nairobian, Shailine confirmed meeting Farouk, but denied allegations that she slept with him.

“It’s true that I met him, but I didn’t sleep with him. Murey is just creating propaganda to tarnish his (Farouk’s) name,” she told The Nairobian, adding that, “Murey is a drunkard and we have been living separately for more than a month. He doesn’t take care of us. In fact, police are looking for him for assaulting another woman. He is now in hiding because he cannot raise the Sh300,000 police bond. That is why he is looking for means to extort people through such allegations,” she claimed.

Murey says he’s involved in land brokerage business, which Shailine laughs off: “No one can decide for me the person to love. After all, Murey is a foolish, jobless broker and whatever he is doing (to Farouk) is not good. He is just destroying himself.”

Not so, says Murey. He says he parted ways with Shailine when he discovered she was having a thing with Farouk. He also denies being a wanted man.

“It is true I was involved in a scuffle with a woman at a bar in town, but we have sorted it out. Police are not looking for me and I am not in hiding. In any case, how is that matter connected to what is going on between Farouk and my wife?” retorts Murey.

The Nairobian has been trying to reach Farouk Kibet for over two weeks regarding the above allegations, but he has not responded to our text messages and his phone is now switched off.
