A security guard has been charged in court for stealing rabbits from his employer.
Shadrack Mbatha Mwindu is said to have committed the offence on diverse dates between March 3 and May 15, 2016 in Utawala.
According to police records, the accused stole 108 rabbits valued at Sh480,000 from Kaur Sirmerjit. He is also accused of stealing 62 chickens, also belonging to the complainant.
Simerjit told police that he employed Shadrack to watch over his Utawala home where she reared the rabbits and chickens. The prosecution said Sirmerjit started the business with 70 rabbits and 50 chickens sometime last year.
Shadrack denied stealing the rabbits and was set free on a Sh100,000 bail. His case will be heard on September 2.
