A high school teacher has accused his wife of allegedly burning him with hot water.
Godfrey Banda claims that Joan Mumia scalded him with hot water and assaulted him on April 11 in Drive-in estate.
Police said Banda arrived home around 11pm after a heavy downpour that led traffic snarl-up and found a fuming Joan already in the house. An argument reportedly ensued, degenerating into a heated verbal exchange. Banda allegedly retired to their bedroom to let his wife calm down According to the prosecution, Joan followed her husband to the bedroom and pushed in the door, but was overpowered by Banda.
The prosecution further charged that moments later, Joan attacked her husband with hot water. The court heard that the accused poured the water on her husband, burning his face and other parts of his upper body.
The court heard that Joan had threatened to harm her husband as well as their only child for his persistent late arrival at home.
She denied the charges and was released on a Sh10,000 bond. The case is set to begin on September 8.
