The accused, identified as Jagnesh Lal Jikeri, reportedly attacked Eric Obowoge Ogech on April 31 at a company along Mombasa Road.
A 31-year-old man found himself in court for allegedly beating his employee for sleeping while on duty.
The accused, identified as Jagnesh Lal Jikeri, reportedly attacked Eric Obowoge Ogech on April 31 at a company along Mombasa Road.
The attack is said to have left the Eric with serious injuries. According to police, Eric, who was on duty until 4am on the said night, fell asleep on his seat just moments after handing over the operation of a machine in the company to another colleague.
Eric, the police said, intended to rest for two hours before relieving his colleague again.
It was while he was resting that the accused reportedly walked in to check on them and found Eric sleeping. The court heard that the accused used his mobile phone to take pictures of Eric sleeping and left.
The following day, the court heard, Jagnesh called Eric to his office and demanded to know why he was sleeping on the job. As he showed him the photos, he allegedly pulled Eric’s ears and slapped him in the face several times.
The accused denied the charges and was released on a Sh20,000 bail. The case will be mentioned on May 26.
