Nameless Kenya

Kenya’s finest music acts will today showcase their prowess during the Music Copyright Society Awards (MCSK) to be held at the Carnivore grounds starting 2pm this afternoon.

The all Kenyan showcase will feature Nyota Ndogo, Sanaipei Tande, D K Mwai, John Nzenze, Mercy Myra, Darlin’ P, Wyre, Them Mashrooms, Amileena, Kassongo, Ernest Kifoto, Mary Otieno, Babu Kabasellah, Bosco Mulwa, Victor Mbuvi, Abbas, Gidigidi Majimaji, Nameless and Amani.

Also on the list is Harry Kimani, Princess Julie, Tony Nyadundo, Esther Wahome, Jemimah Thiogo, Jua Cali, Emmy Kosgei, Suzanne Owiyo, Jaguar, Daddy Owen, Nonini and David Baraza among others.

The list released through a press statement mailed to media houses on Saturday also dispelled rumours that non-Kenyan artistes had been paid hefty amounts to come and perform at the event something that had caused a major social media buzz throughout the weekend.

MCSK refuted allegations that Tanzanian star Diamond had been paid Sh1.5 million to come and perform during the function saying the singer had only been invited to receive his royalties having emerged the top foreign earner.

This is the third consecutive year that MCSK is holding this event, which seeks to reward musicians who have performed well with regard to royalties that they have received within the past financial year.
