FKF forms Transition Committee to guide leadership transition

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced the formation of a seven-member Transition Ad Hoc Committee to guide the federation through a crucial phase of change.

This decision, reached after deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) in December, signals FKF's commitment to establishing stronger governance structures and ensuring a smooth transition for the organization.

The committee will be chaired by FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, with Kerubo Momanyi, the Women Representative, taking up the role of Deputy Chairperson. Bernard Lagat, the Upper Rift FKF Branch NEC Member, will serve as Secretary.

Other members include Eastern NEC Member Charles Njoka Njagi, Central NEC Member Robert Macharia, North Eastern NEC Member Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar, and Lower Rift NEC Member Peter "Kass Kass" Kamau.

This team has been tasked with steering FKF through a transition period marked by both challenges and opportunities. Their primary focus will be on ensuring operational continuity, maintaining the federation's core functions, and safeguarding its institutional integrity.

This involves upholding transparency, credibility, and a steadfast commitment to FKF's mandate while preparing the ground for the next leadership team.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed expressed confidence in the committee's ability to fulfill its mandate effectively, emphasizing the importance of their leadership and expertise.

The Transition Ad Hoc Committee will also focus on equipping the incoming National Executive Committee with the tools, knowledge, and insights necessary to manage the federation's affairs efficiently.

Additionally, the committee will undertake capacity-building initiatives to strengthen FKF's administrative, technical, and strategic frameworks, ensuring sustainable growth for Kenyan football.

Another key task will be conducting a comprehensive forensic audit of the federation's finances and human resources, aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency.

This announcement highlights FKF's determination to prioritize good governance and prepare the organization for long-term success.

As the committee begins its work, there is optimism that its efforts will lay a solid foundation for the next chapter in the federation's history.
