Jaguar Introduces The Man Who Granted him opportunity.

By Sheila Kimani (@sheilakimm)

“Huu mwaka” hit maker Jaguar has shed light on his past, revealing the struggles he underwent before he finally rose to fame. The singer brags of high businesses and a job he recently landed with the government after he was appointed to the NACADA board.

However, looking back, Jaguar narrated a touching story about how he had no future up till he met one Mr. Gathigo, head teacher of Magutuini primary school who after listening to his story, accepted to give him a chance.

In his revelation, Jaguar told of how his life took a new twist when his mother passed on forcing him to live with his aunt. Life was difficult and he had to sell water to earn something for the day. Despite his interest to join school and earn an education, the first school he approached rejected him as he couldn’t converse in English.

One day my auntie tried to take me back to school at Musa Gitau Primary but they refused and said I couldn't talk in English.” It was also very expensive for my uncle and his wife to pay for me” Jaguar said.

It was Mr. Gathigo who accepted him to his school, thus granting him a chance to realize his dreams.

Here is the narrative as unveiled by Jaguar.

When my mum passed away I had just completed class 8 and didn't have someone to take me to high school...so I went to Kikuyu to live with my Uncle where i helped him with house chores....one day my auntie tried to take me back to school at Musa Gitau primary but they refused and said I couldn't talk English and also was very expensive for my uncle and his wife to pay for me...I started selling water at Thogoto shopping center during the day when my guardian’s were at work.

One day I saw a school next to Thogoto teacher's college called Magutuini pri and decided to enter and try my Luck..I met the headmaster at the gate and introduced myself and my story and this man here with me in this pic listened to me and told me to enter class 7 and start learning.

His name is Mr Gathigo...he changed my life and will forever thank God for him...was it not for him and my uncle Steve and Eunice I would have never gone back to school....went to look for him and Thank him..
