A woman and her daughter were arraigned in court for allegedly attempting to stab an elderly man.
Nelly Wambui and Virginia Waweruh, it is alleged, attacked Sam Waweruh at their home in South C on November 21.
The court heard that on the fateful night, Waweruh who happens to be Wambui’s hubby, arrived home and found the wife had gone out on a drinking spree.
Upon returning home around midnight, Waweruh, it is claimed, beat up his wife demanding to know what kind of a wife she was and why she had gone out without his permission.
A fight ensued and it is claimed that Wambui’s daughter, Virginia, joined in the fight and they both started beating Waweruh.
Wambui later dashed to the kitchen and took a knife in an attempt to stab her hubby, but the man managed to escape.
Waweruh reported the matter to the police who arrested the two.
They denied the charges and were released on Sh10,000 bond each. Their case will be heard on December 29.
