Nothing can really beat regular exercise especially where busting stress is concerned. Exercise is the best way to dissipate excess energy, especially if you have that sedentary job or other issues that keep bugging you.

It is a good idea to channel your energy into proper exercise, be it swimming, having a brisk walk, a bike ride or getting involved in any ball game activities. You don’t need to join a health club to do this. Exercise can be as informal as walking to your local store for shopping, taking your kids for a walk around your block, taking that evening walk before hitting the shower from a long day’s work and settling in for your evening meal or even dancing at home to your favorite tune.

One of the most important things to bear in mind is that anytime you think of doing this, try to exercise at a moderate intensity for a minimum of 30 minutes, most days of the week. There are many reasons to do so. Such activities will not only improve health and reduce stress, it will also relax your tense muscles and help you sleep better. Such exercise causes the release of chemicals called endorphins into your bloodstream, making you feel relaxed and happy.

And as much as it can also be helpful tool in fighting depression and anxiety, it also helps you reduce the risk of heart diseases, managing high blood pressure and stroke. All in all, people who are always fit are always able to handle the long term effects of stress without suffering too much ill health.

What to choose from: It’s difficult to keep going with an exercise program you don’t enjoy. If you choose something you enjoy, it won’t feel like a chore. Cycling, jogging, walking, aerobics classes and dancing are all great forms of exercise. It is also highly advised to vary your activities to avoid boredom. For example, if you normally exercise indoors, try working out outdoors next time.

Make your exercise fun: Exercising with friend might encourage you to keep it up longer. And if you find yourself making excuses like, I don’t have time, I am not the sporty type, I don’t have the money, I am too tired or overweight or I get too bored too fast, write them down and assess each one.

Keep it fun: Exercise doesn’t have to take place at the gym. Anyone can exercise even without spending money, leaving the house or having a particular skill. And everyone feels better afterwards. Just remember to warm up and cool down to avoid injuries.
