Kaburengu accident leaves five pupils, driver dead

Webuye County Hospital where some of the pupils are nursing injuries and the wreckaged of the ill-fated school bus.

"It is just three weeks ago when we lost four people on the same road, I am urging our President to order KeNHA to redesign this road the way the Salgaa road was redesigned to have a dual carriage so that trucks can use their own lane separate from the rest of the vehicles," said Savula.

Savula said in one week's time the county government is going to relocate all traders doing their business along the road in efforts to avoid more deaths on the highway.

Busia Governor Paul Otuoma through his communication team condoled with the bereaved families and wished the survivors a quick recovery.

However, Police are looking for the driver of the truck who is alleged to have escaped from the scene.

The bodies of the deceased pupils and a driver have been taken to Webuye Hospital Mortuary.
