A woman has pleaded with court to withdraw a case against her abusive husband.

Ruth Amakove said she had forgiven Boniface Nalianya, who is facing assault charges.

Amakove said they had settled their differences and were living together with the husband, who is out on bond.

"Our children need us and we even accompanied one another to attend court today," she said.

"We have five children who need their father's support," she said.

State prosecutor objected to the application, noting the wife had made a similar prayer but was dismissed.

He told her to seek a review.

Senior Resident Magistrate Wayodi Sylvia told Amakove to follow the process directed by the prosecutor.
