Water crisis has hit Kocholya sub-county hospital in Teso North.
Doctors and staff working in Kocholya, and who spoke to The Standard yesterday on condition of anonymity, painted a picture of a helpless situation that has persisted at the facility for more than one week.
Worst hit
The worst hit is the maternity section.
“The situation is dire, the county must intervene and fix the water shortage for the sake of patients, especially in the maternity ward,” a doctor said.
Members of the public are forced to buy water outside the hospital whenever they take their patients for delivery. The public pointed an accusing finger at the county government for allegedly doing little to address the situation.
