I have this dynamic faith in God that he can provide anything for me because of the murky situations he has pulled me through. We all need this kind of faith before we can venture out on the journey of success. God still affirms that He has good plans for you regardless of what you may be going through.

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

As you pursue and enjoy your prosperity, you have to bear in mind certain principles. First, permit yourself to prosper. Few people are born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouths.

Having been brought up in poverty-stricken communities, many people innocently embrace the wrong mentality and consequently end up unconsciously abhorring prosperity and anything related to it. You have to learn to think and act unconventionally. Most people have been brought up in a society that celebrates poverty over success. Consequently, those who break out of that shell of poverty are either doubted, ridiculed or gossiped.

Secondly, do not apologise for the prosperity God brings your way. Insist on maintaining your status and do not feel guilty for being successful. Allow yourself to prosper by accepting the new heights God helps you to scale and not conform to societal expectations. The time to be comfortable with failure is over!

Thirdly, take steps in the right direction.

The Bible says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand” (Psalm 37:23-24). Life dictates that you take steps towards whatever you to do. Some people take the wrong steps towards failure and others take the right steps towards success.

Finally, learn to give. A secret to prosperity is giving. Unfortunately, many people only get excited when receiving them.

This is the Dead Sea mentality. This sea derives its name from the strange affinity it has for receiving only and not giving out. Nature teaches us that anything that never gives out eventually dies.

For example, a tree takes in carbon dioxide gas and releases oxygen gas.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

God’s loving characteristic compelled him to give. There is a correlation between loving and giving. You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

The difference between a successful person and a failed one lies in the knowledge they possess.

When you talk to most successful people, you will realise that they have certain secrets that have helped them to get to where they are. Such people only need to give you one key that can lead you to where they are.

An article I once read in the dailies highlighted some interesting confessions from chief executive officers (CEOs) on how they made blunders; and what kept them going was the fact that they dusted off their coats and kept on moving.

Do not ever allow yourself to get to a place where you get frustrated as a result of your failures. Failure is not final!

Scriptures tell us that a righteous man may fall seven times but God will pick him up again.

The words though he falls, mean that God knows you are human and prone to making mistakes but provides a way out; and “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord” means that the Lord directs the steps. For you to be in the right position for success, you need to be led by God.

You ought to be under his direction and guidance to know what business to venture into or what academic field to pursue.

There are so many opportunities in life but you need to be led by God. When He leads you, your steps are certain and the Bible declares also that He sees the end from the beginning.

I pray that, as you brace yourself for prosperity, you will succeed and be a winner. You were meant to win, so take courage and go for it!
