Dennis Omondi, a Kenyan journalist who previously worked at West Media has died.
The deceased had appealed for help earlier this year after he was diagnosed with acute Leukemia and required a bone transplant.
He raised some funds and went to India to seek treatment, hoping that well-wishers and friends would help him raise the remaining balance, Sh6.5 million.
After paying for the first phase of treatment, Omondi was left stranded at Apollo Hospital and could not access treatment since he had no money.
He came back to Kenya and continued with treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where he lost his life on Friday.
His former colleagues sent condolence messages to his family and lauded his bravery throughout his battle with Leukemia.
Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi also took to Twitter to celebrate Omondi stating: “Dennis Omondi Musindi, we did all we could, we raised money as a Social Media family.
“You are a fighter! Go well bro, I pray that God strengthens your family. You taught us one thing, we can fight, we can raise any amount of money, we are one great family. Sad News. #RIPDENNIS
