What you need to know about lawyers representing NASA, Jubilee and the IEBC at the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has allowed the National super Alliance (NASA) read-only access to select servers used by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, with liberty to make copies of forms 3A and 34B.

They will however only access these servers under the supervision of the Supreme Court's registrar.

NASA had earlier claimed that IEBC denied them access to the servers, with Lawyer Paul Mwangi stating that the commission had only provided print logs.

Several lawyers have lined up at the Supreme Court to represent the IEBC, NASA and the Jubilee party.

AHMEDNASSIR ABDULLAHI

He is a senior counsel and a columnist.

He has previously served as a member of the Judicial Service Commission. He represented the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in the 2013 petition.

KEN OGETO

Ken is an established lawyer who had previously acted for President Uhuru Kenyatta at the International Criminal Court, where he was facing charges of crimes against humanity.

He is a senior counsel who has previously served as a legislator and even run for president, albeit unsuccessfully. He is leading the defence team for the IEBC.

PROFESSOR PLO LUMUMBA

Lumumba is a prominent lawyer and scholar, who is known more for his mastery of English.

He has previously served as the director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.

PAUL NYAMODI

Paul is a city based lawyer who has represented the IEBC in multiple cases before the courts, including the 2013 presidential petition.

RAILA ODINGA’S TEAM

JAMES ORENGO

Orengo is a senior counsel and is the lead lawyer for the petitioner Raila Odinga at the Supreme Court.

He is a close confidante of the former Prime Minister and is the Senator-elect for Siaya County.

AMOLLO OTIENDE

He is the Member of Parliament-elect for Rarieda Constituency, also in Siaya County and is the former chairman of the Commission on Administrative Justice.

PAUL MWANGI

He is a close associate of Raila Odinga, having worked beside him as the legal affairs adviser at the Office of Prime Minister since 2011.
