Kenyans mourn the death of Big Kev

  • Big Kev was the founder of True Blaq Events that organised many Kenyan concerts over the years.
  • He had undergone many surgeries after battling with brain tumor for over five years.

Kevin Ombajo, aka Big Kev the founder of True Blaq Events, passed on Saturday 29th July 2017 after battling with brain tumor for over five years. He was diagnosed with the tumor since 2006 and gone for surgeries since then. Big Kev also lost his eyesight due to the many surgeries he had undergone and described it as drying up of the nerves that transmit light from the eyes to the brain.


"The doctors call it optic atrophy. They say the optic nerves dried up," Big Kev wrote of his on his facebook page after announcing that he had lost his eyesight in December 2016.

Big Kev had his last operation on February 2017 at the Nairobi Hospital. He has left behind his wife Tracy and their daughter.
