Nasa flag bearer Mr Raila Odinga who showed up for the presidential debate had a lot to say to Kenyans. He agreed that Kenya was going in the wrong direction because of the high inflation rate, youth unemployment and mega corruption in the Jubilee government.
He promised Kenyans that if elected he would reduce the cost of living by enforcing the Rent Restriction Act. Raila termed the cost of living in Kenya as 'unrealistic' and that is why he would reduce house rent once elected. He also said that Jubilee is ' pro-business' while he is 'pro-market'. Mr Odinga said that he was running for presidency because of his commitment to change the country.
When asked by the moderators whether he has a tallying centre in Tanzania, Mr Odinga responded saying that we have a tallying centre in Kenya and even in the clouds. He however confirmed that there was a tallying center in Tanzania but urged Kenyans not to be worried since it would not affect the general elections.
He encouraged both Jubilee and NASA supporters to turn out in large numbers to vote for their preferred candidate.
This was Raila's last message to Kenyans;
"There would be no violence in Kenya as long a the elections are free and fair. We are on the brink of history as a country. It has been a long journey to reach where we have reached today as a people 8 of August is going to remain as a very historic day. Every Kenyan who is able and has registered as a voter must turn out to cast their vote to participate in history making. I am sure that at the end of the day Kenya is going to remain victorious because nane nane is going to remain a very important day in your life."
