Attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Lenana School on Saturday, I was very impressed by the Form Four class.
The students, who are sitting an internal mock examination, are reported to have declined to sit the examination, citing the presence of a leak.
The students told Principal William Mwangi they would not sit the exam with the suspects who had the leak. They then went ahead to point out the culprits who were immediately suspended, pending further disciplinary action.
All students in our schools should emulate that by standing against their colleagues who stand to ruin their four-years’ worth of work by engaging in any kind of exam irregularities. The Ministry of Education should initiate a training programme for examination supervisors on how to detect exam cheating before, during and after the exams.
