We have lost a hero - Kenyans mourn Mzee Daniel Moi

Kenyans on social media are mourning the death of Kenya’s second President Mzee Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. 

Mzee Moi was announced dead on Tuesday morning February 4 while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital.

To honor his death, President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered the national flag to be flown at half-mast countrywide and in Kenyan embassies abroad.

The nation to observe period of national mourning until his funeral.

Keror Nicholas - Mzee Moi was my member of parliament, my president, community member and a community elder. All of us when we were growing up, we wanted to be like Moi. We went to school because of Moi. Rest in peace Mtukufu Baba Moi.

Tom Muema- Rest in peace mzee, I was very young when you were in power but from history books, you cared for the common mwananchi and worked tirelessly to unite this Nation. We will miss you mzee, may your soul rest in paradise.
