Four Tips to start a business

When most university students are asked what they are planning to do after their four or five years in campus the answer is always entrepreneurship. But again not all of them have a plan of what business they are going to venture into. So the second question is always met with a bleak gaze.

You don’t need a lot of money to start a business or venture in entrepreneurship, you only need this four simple tips:

Have a purpose and passion

Do not start a business just because a friend you know has such a business and it's doing well. Find your niche, probably in your specialty for example agriculture. Venture into something you have some knowledge, background information or passion. This way you won’t find it difficult to research about what you need to do to improve the business and also the customer needs and preference.

Be futuristic

Most businesses fail after some time due to the lack of this aspect before starting the business. Think about the future of the business especially customer preferences, wants and needs which change from time to time. For example, starting a business of selling Success Cards during the last quarter of the year will be very profitable since the exams are always on during this season but the business won’t be as profitable after this period.

Turn challenges and circumstances to opportunities

A good entrepreneur understands a catastrophe comes with a trump card, just cross check the deck of cards in your hand and find it.

 Start early

The last and most important tip is starting early. Procrastination is never the solution. As Mark Twain once said, the secret of getting ahead is getting started.
