By June 30th, Kenyans should have filed their tax returns as per section 52B of the Income tax cap 470 in the Kenya tax laws. Kenya Revenue Authority manager Walter Omata in charge of Agriculture and Real Estate Sector East and South of Nairobi explained that persons who have done overpayments with KRA need to provide evidence in order to get a refund.
“When a person launches a complaint about an overpayment, we will ask for evidence of the payments that have been done.” He said on Spice FM, adding that a refund is done within 30 days.
