A post-mortem conducted on the body of the first-year student from Maasai Mara University alleged to have died of excessive Viagra consumption shows otherwise.

According to the report by the government pathologist on the 22-year-old, Wycliffe Omondi, “nothing abnormal was found.”

The postmortem was conducted on February 25, 2022 after the social media went on fire questioning the intentions of the perpetrators on the new student.

Aden Mohamed, the university’s Dean of Students has come out to refute the claims on social media saying the reports were meant to tarnish the name of the institution, as “unfortunately, false information sells faster than the truth.”

Mohamed said Omondi died at Shepherd Hospital where he was receiving treatment after complaining of lower abdominal pain.

The reports going round on social media showed that Omondi, had suffered a continuous erection that led to his death.

According to the reports, Omondi is said to have accompanied his five friends at a party on February 18, 2022 before he was served with a meal that led to the condition.

From the videos and pictures circulating online, the student was in great pain and later on died – a death that was reportedly caused by ingesting food laced with Viagra.

“The student was admitted at the facility on Wednesday 23/02/2022 while complaining of pain on the lower limbs and he could not walk on his own. Even at the time of his demise, his mother was at the facility,” he added.

The body was released to the parents after the postmortem which was done at Narok Referral Mortuary.

Further, the dean notes that students from the institution are “disciplined, law-abiding and mature in their dealings with day to day life.”
